Want to keep our planet green and clean? Get fascinated with nature's diversity, creativity and complexity? Then our Summer course 2021 is definitely for you!

The "GoGreen with Russian" is a two-week edutainment course which will give you guidelines for continuously improving your environmental performance and introduce you to one of the greenest locations in Russia - Udmurtia.

Financial support available for German students within the DAAD Go-East Winter-and Summer Schools 2021 programme. Scholarship covers travel and

residence expenses and a part of tuition fee.

COURSE STRUCTURE
Duration: August 9 - 22, 2021

Application deadline: June 15 (offline) or July 25 (online)
ECO-STUDIES
  • 2 hours/day, Mon-Fri
  • on-site introductory sessions from leading UdSU experts
  • project-based approach
  • experiments in modern laboratories
  • field trips and workshops with environmental focus



TRIPS
  • environmental tours to the city zoo, Botanical garden, etc.
  • field trip to Pikhtovka fishing farm
  • day-trip to «Ludorvay» ethnographic open-air museum*
  • Day-trip to the birthplace of Petr Tchaikovsky - the author of the Nutcracker and the Swan Lake.
*optional cultural programme

RUSSIAN LANGUAGE CLASSES
  • 1 hour/day, Mon-Fri
  • crash course of Russian
  • focus on environmental topics
  • chat-clubs with native speakers
SOCIAL PROGRAMME*
  • birding
  • star gazing
  • cycling and boat trips
  • hitchhiking
  • engaging in eco-activities with local community

Location
The Eco Summer school will be conducted in the Udmurt Republic.
It is one of the most eco-friendly regions in Russia. According to official statistic the Udmurt Republic ranks 32nd in Russia in terms of mineral extraction and the region's industrial production index is 98.7%. Despite the high rates of industrialization, Udmurtia has improved the environmental situation and in 2020 took the 12th place in the rating of environmentally friendly regions of Russia. Visting Udmurtia is a chance to explore locations with breathtaking views and carefully preserved environment.
